Formerly a top fashion model at 5'10'' tall. Carey was popular with high-end American designers, including Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father, who was a renowned scientist who received the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists 1979 Scientist of the Year award is a renowned geologist. Carey was brought up all over the planet due to the work of her father. Modeling began part time while she was attending university at the University of Colorado and caught the attention of a representative of the Ford model Agency in New York. In 1980, she moved to France for a brief period of time, and lived in Paris and Bordeaux, before returning in New York in order to explore the modeling profession. The model was featured on Vogue as well as Glamour pages. She studied full-time in New York University, obtaining the degree in Literature, which she earned between modeling assignments. Her interest grew in acting and began taking classes with the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. The actress had a tiny part of Club Paradise with Robin Williams In 1986. In her spare time, she enjoys doing white-water rafting, skiing, windsurfing, and rock climbing.
